Choose well your petanque ball triplet according to the age of the child

According to the age of the child, material and weight of balls vary. For the little ones, prefer lighter and less hard materials. For the highest, there are metal balls, in order to initiate them to become, perhaps, future champions !

From 3 or 4 :

Your child can play petanque !
For the first approch, we advice you plastic or wood balls. These can be used both indoors and outdoors. Discover our petanque balls selection for child.

From 5 :

You can begin to offer metal balls to your childs !
These balls are very light, arround 200 grammes. So, they do not present a risk in case of fall on feet. Discover our metal petanque balls.

From 6 or 7 :

You can offer his first Obut balls to your child !
Obut Junior initiation or Obut Junior Loisir SUN chevron or Obut Junior Loisir SUN point are ideals to discover petanque, and good quality. We also have PVC balls filled with sand, which will be suitable for all children from six years in 65 mm and 200 grams, with maximum safety. These balls also exist for all in 74 mm and 680 grams.

Your child is ready to tournament ?

Two models are available :

  • Obut Match Minimes : These 3 balls are suitable for beginners in competition from 11 years old or younger. Be careful, it weighs anyway 600 grams, for a diameter of 65 mm. It is approved for "Minimal Competitions" (players aged 10 to 12 years in the year).
  • Obut Match : From 12 years old, we recommend these balls, accessible from 70,5 mm diameter. It is also suitable for adults by choosing the right diameter / weight, which allows the youngest to play with adult balls ! This Obut Match ball is approved for all types of competitions.

Young people are divided into 4 categories for the competition : youngest (9 years or less), minimal (10-12 years), cadets (13-15 years), juniors (16 or 17 years). From the age of 18, they pass into the senior category.
